EXCEPTIONAL !!2017GRETSCH6228 Pro Players Edition Jet BT'DARK CHERRY METALLIC'WEIGHT : 7.4 LBS ON ULTRA SHIP DIGITAL POSTAL SCALES...The 1950's and '60s are considered the Golden Years of Gretsch guitars production. To celebrate 65 years of the Jet, Gretsch have released the 2018 G6228 Players Edition Jet. A fitting tribute to the timeless guitars manufactured during this period, this is an outstanding modern take on an original great.
With a Maple top on a Mahogany body, the G6228 Jet is finished in the classic Cadillac Green Metallic. The flagship model in the Gretsch Solid Body range, the Jet has a really rich harmonic power. By letting air resonate between the top and the body through its chambered Mahogany construction, the Jet has a super lively and articulate tone.
The Mahogany neck features a U profile, comfortable underhand and offering a great position for both heavy chordal work and more delicate lead playing. The 22 Medium Jumbo frets bear the classic aged Pearloid Thumbnail inlays and give that familiar Gretsch aesthetic.
Loaded with a pair of all-new Gretsch Broad’Tron BT65 pickups, designed by Tim Shaw, you get vintage growl with superb clarity. They truly capture the guitar’s sonic palette and produce powerful mids, extended lows and an exceptionally clear, yet smooth high end.

SLIM NECK IS SUPER COMFORTABLE !PRETTY RARE GUITAR AND EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND AN EXAMPLE AS CLEAN AS THIS IN DARK CHERRY METALLIC !BEAUTIFUL FINISH ...IT REALLY LOOKS INCREDIBLE !AMAZING LOOKING FADED VINTAGE STYLE FULL SIZE BLOCK MARKERS !BT65 'BROAD TRON' TIM SHAW DESIGNED PICKUPS SOUND AMAZING ! LOTS OF HIGH END SPARKLE AND LOW END DEFINITION !On a spectrum of grit and drive, the Broad’Tron is Gretsch’s most robust Filter’Tron. Imagine that the High Sensitive Filter’Tron is on the cleanest end of the spectrum – the Broad’Tron is on the other end of that same spectrum, with the Full’Tron perhaps being right in the middle. I know that Gretsch has no interest in comparing its pickups with anyone else because everyone’s recipe is just a bit different and there is no intention to copy anyone. But, let me suggest to you that the Broad’Tron’s relationship with the HS Filter’Tron is much like TV Jones’ Power’Tron is to the TV Classic pickup. More grit when you want it to hit the front end of your amplifier a lot harder than the classic Filter.
While the Broad’Tron is designed to have a much more robust mid-range than the HS Filters, it doesn’t sacrifice the high end sparkle or the low end definition that we Gretsch players are accustomed to hearing. That is all still there. With less compression, the highs are still very much present. These Broad’Trons, known as the “BT65" pickup, are potted in shellac, rather than wax. The shellac is naturally thinner than wax which lends to a better retention of the bright sparkle of the Filter’Tron.
